Ok break over!!!!!!
Yes ok so I realize that was a really short break. However I couldn't ignore the loud voice inside me that was telling me to get a second opinion.
So that's what I did. I emailed two of the best fertility specialists in the US. One in Texas and one in St. Louis. They both emailed me back right away and both said basically the same thing. The most important thing they agreed on was that if I wanted to get pregnant sitting on birth control for 6 months wasn't going to do anything other than prevent pregnancy.
I have a consult with the St. Louis doctor on July 17th. I am really looking forward to hearing what he has to say.
When I saw the nurse practioner she gave me some free samples of Prometrium (sooo expensive so I was grateful) but she only had enough for 5 days not the 14 she usually prescribes. I had 4 days left from the last time I had my prescription filled so that gave me enough for 9 days. She said to go ahead and do the 9 days and if my period doesn't start then to call the office and she'd have someone call in a prescription for the other 5 days for me.
Well I did call and when I finally heard something bad I was mad. The nurse that called me back said that my NP had reviewed my chart and that she thinks 9 days is enough not to take anymore. To just wait for my period to start and that it could take up to 3 weeks for that to happen. So if I have no period after 3 weeks then I could call back.
I was pretty mad because I HATE being left in limbo by these people! 3 weeks seems like nothing to them but when you want a baby it seems like FOREVER and she's just not getting it.
Lucky for me my period started this morning so I didn't have to wait very long. Now I could go ahead and start the birth control pills today but I have decided not to. At first I was just going to do nothing and wait to see the RE in July. However I have a month before I see him and since we'll be paying out of pocket for anything he does for us we could be looking at a lot of money.
So since I still have enough Clomid left to do another cycle I am going to give it another shot. (I am in no way saying what I have decided to do is ok and I am not suggesting anyone else take Clomid without being under a doctor's supervision.)
So on Monday I'll try one more time to get pregnant before I see the RE. It would be such a blessing to get pregnant and not need to see the RE after all! Financially it would be a miracle for us! It would most likely cost us about $1,000 to do one monitored cycle with the RE.
Please pray for us! I truly believe in the power of prayer and want so much to have another baby. Believe me this child would be so wanted and so loved!
Hugs to everyone!
